A scholar with a very broad expertise in contemporary history, geography, intellectual history, and the history of Cuba. Currently serving as the director of Queen Mary’s institute for the humanities and social sciences in London, Simon has written four books, the third of which is called THE POLITICAL ORIGINS OF INEQUALITY, published by the University of Chicago Press in 2015.
